Alleviating the Employer’s Migraine
On March 9th, IBS, Jackson Lewis, LLP, and Saint Joseph’s University sponsored the seminar “Alleviating the Employer’s Migraine” held at Saint Joseph’s University. The topic focused on navigating the complex array of obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The presenters included Maria Petrillo and Lori Halber, both of which are Partners in Jackson Lewis LLP and have ample knowledge and a firm understanding of the legal and operational sides of the issues that have arisen with revised regulations and recent ADA amendments.
Employers were offered solutions to enhance their legal compliance and reduce business risk when coping with the recent legislation. Some of the suggestions included; improving the management of employee absences and requests for accommodations, dealing with intermittent leave, along with many other common challenges employer’s face.
